I wanted to get a pair of lycra shorts to swim in. And in comparison to other shorts, these had a super smooth texture and comfort. The smoothness translates to better water repulsion. I was swimming in regular trunks and upon switching to these my 100yd swim went from 1:40 down to 1:36. I couldn't believe it. I might have been having a good swim, but a four second improvement has to at least a bit attributed to equipment.
